These digitally generated images were produced by combining images of flowers with elements from my traditional works in painting, printmaking, and drawing. All the floral elements came from scans and photographs of discarded flowers that I collected after public events and special occasions, such as graduations and parties. These abandoned flowers took on a ghostly appearance when combined with visuals from my oeuvre. The ephemeral quality of the images is partially due to the digital processing of the imagery. I believe the overall aesthetic of these works speak to this present age of accelerated experiences through digital media, which replaces reality with simulacra, remaking the world into images, glowing specters floating on our screens.
